We are all for the best outcomes here at Howleluyah

We know what’s out there.
Whether ANKC-registered or backyard-bred, we’ve seen it all — and frankly, many of the Miniature Schnauzer puppies being sold today just aren’t up to scratch.
Some breeders are simply getting it wrong — cutting corners, ignoring standards and putting profit before ethics.
But the real proof?
It’s always in the puppies: Their health, temperament, structure and the care they’ve received from day one.
You will never regret taking the time to do your homework. Choose a breeder who lives and breathes the breed, who holds themselves to high standards and who puts ethics and the dogs before their bank account.
We’d much rather you avoid the heartbreak of learning that the hard way.
Raising exceptional Miniature Schnauzers

Looks. Temperament. Health.
You want your dog to look like a true Miniature Schnauzer — and we get that.
That iconic beard. The bold brows. The flowing furnishings.
You’re willing to go the extra mile to keep them looking sharp — the envy of the neighbourhood.
But it’s not just about looks.
At Howleluyah, we believe a truly exceptional Miniature Schnauzer also needs the right temperament — confident, clever and adaptable. That’s why we invest deeply in each puppy’s development:
Every puppy is raised with intention and care, and we personally match them to homes where we know they’ll thrive. Our goal is to send you home with a sweet, well-rounded pup who’s ready for all of life’s adventures.
And yes — we’re kinda sticklers when it comes to health.
Prioritizing Canine Health

Testing. Nutrition. Lifestyle.
In this day and age, there’s no excuse for skipping health testing. Ethical breeders must test for all known, relevant conditions before breeding — it’s just best practice.
But genetics aren’t everything.
Many health issues in dogs are caused not by inherited disease, but by poor nutrition, lifestyle or environmental exposure.
Daily choices matter — they add up, for better or worse.
At Howleluyah, we commit to doing our part as breeders. And we look for homes that are just as committed to giving their puppy the healthiest, happiest life possible—because raising a well-rounded, thriving dog is a team effort.
The Commitment to Excellence

Knowledge. Investment. Thoughtful Breeding.
The truth is, being a responsible dog owner takes education. We are our dog’s only advocate, and that means learning, evolving and sometimes unlearning what we thought we knew.
Maybe some of the choices we made in the past weren’t in the best interests of our dog’s long-term health. Maybe we followed advice that, with hindsight, wasn’t ideal (yes—even from vets). That’s okay. Owning that is part of growth.
The incredible thing is—we now live in a time where the most powerful research tool on earth lives right in our pocket. The opportunity to learn more, do better and raise healthier, happier dogs is right at our fingertips.
Never stop learning. (We certainly don’t.)
Dedicated to the Breed

Time. Love. Expertise in Every Puppy.
At Howleluyah, we pour time, love and focused attention into every puppy we raise. That’s not just part of our process — it’s part of our promise to our puppy owners. And honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Our dedication also shows in the way we prove our dogs. The show ring isn’t a beauty contest — it’s where breeding dogs are evaluated by trained judges against the Breed Standard. It’s how we ensure our dogs are not just beautiful, but structurally sound, balanced in temperament and true to type.
This commitment is backed by over 31 years of hands-on experience with Miniature Schnauzers, and the insight that comes from being a second-generation ANKC breeder.
We believe our puppy price fairly reflects the quality, expertise and lifelong investment we make into every dog — and into the future of this incredible breed.
Our Puppy Pricing Policy

The price quoted to you in our Puppy Brochure (sent via email) is the final price you will pay for your puppy—provided you proceed within the current litter. Our pricing is structured in three clear stages:
Application & Waitlist Fee
Due after phone approval and email confirmation
Once we’ve had a phone conversation and approved you as a suitable home, we’ll ask you to:
The paid fee secures your place on the waitlist.
Holding Fee
Due at Visit the Pups Day (~6 weeks old)
At around 6 weeks of age, you’ll be invited to our Visit the Pups Day. This is a special time to meet the litter! The Holding Fee is due at this stage to continue your reservation.
Final Balance
Due on Puppy Pickup Day (10 weeks old)
After structural and personality assessments (at approximately 8 weeks), you’ll be matched with a puppy based on your application preferences and the outcome of evaluations.
The final balance is due on Puppy Pickup Day, when your puppy is ready to go home at 10 weeks of age (following their desexing procedure).
Future Pricing
From time to time, our puppy pricing may change in line with market conditions and rising costs. We are not required to notify you of these adjustments, but we are always happy to answer any questions you may have.

Our policy on puppies boarded Past Pickup Day

Final payment for your puppy is due by the time they reach 10 weeks of age, which is the standard Puppy Pickup Day.
While we will continue to provide high-quality care for any puppies remaining with us beyond that time, please note:
This policy reflects the continued time, care and resources required to raise your puppy beyond the standard timeline (which is already longer than other breeders).
We always encourage families to make timely arrangements for pickup so your puppy can settle into their new home during this important stage of development. If you anticipate needing a later pickup, please discuss this with us as early as possible.
